This Privacy Policy explains how iON ("iON", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the iON mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account data: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, depending on your choices, your name and email address.
• Profile data: Display name, username, bio, avatar, cover image, and any other details you add.
• User content: Posts, comments, images, video, and messages you create or send.
• Invitations: Invite codes you redeem or share.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Location data: With your permission ("While Using the App"), we use your device location to show people and posts near you. You can disable this anytime in iOS Settings.
• Device & push data: Device push token (Apple Push Notification service) and basic device/app version information.
• Usage data: In-app activity such as posts viewed, likes, follows, subscriptions, and ON virtual-currency activity.

1.3 Virtual currency

iON includes a closed in-app virtual currency called ON. ON has no monetary value, cannot be purchased with real money, and cannot be redeemed, cashed out, or exchanged for cash. In the App, “withdraw” means claiming accrued ON, not transferring money. There are no in-app purchases.

2. How We Use Information

• Create and manage your account and profile;
• Operate core features (feed, nearby map, messaging, subscriptions, ON economy);
• Send notifications you have enabled;
• Show relevant people and posts near you;
• Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms;
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

• With other users: Your profile, posts, comments, and public activity are visible to others according to your settings and each feature.
• Service providers: Google Firebase (authentication, push, storage); Apple (Sign in with Apple, push); Amazon Web Services (backend & media hosting).
• Legal & safety: We may disclose information to comply with law or protect users and the public.
• We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for safety.

5. Your Choices and Rights

• Account deletion: Delete your account and data in-app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). This is irreversible.
• Location / Notifications: Manage permissions in iOS Settings.
• Access & correction: Edit your profile in-app, or email privacy@beion.app.

Depending on your region (EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability.

6. Children

iON is not directed to children. You must be at least 17 years old to use the App (see our Terms). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email privacy@beion.app and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS). No method is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by in-app notice.
